Ispat Industries Limited visits NIT Durgapur on 10th Oct 2009

ISPAT INDUSTRIES is among few recruiters who not stepping back from job offerings. It is quite good to see Ispat is visiting many colleges for campus placements. Ispat presents hiring is massive as it is recruiting in big number.

Ispat recently visited NIT Durgapur and recruited 20 students +5 in waitlist

Eligibility:

There should be at-least 60% throughout the career (10^th, 12^th and till sixth semester in college)

There should be maximum of 2 years of gap between 12^th and B.Tech

Salary Details:

Pay scale is around 22,000/- pm in hand + Medical+ PF+ facilities like transportation, meal ,hostel , electricity, Insurance. Also Annual performance pay is 60,000 and bonus is about 30,000 (approx) .This was presented by HR manager of Ispat Industries and CTC is 4.2 lakh.

Selection Procedure:

There was Group discussion followed by an interview.

Group discussion:

Note: as there was a bond of two years no of students appeared for the process were quite less.

It was reported that RESUME` too played an important role in final selection. Higher GPAs preferred.

We don’t have much detail in GD topics so we request students from NITDGP to update us so more students can get benefit out of it.

Interview:

Interview was mainly focused on tech questions. But good number of HR questions were also asked.

HR Questions:

1. What are your hobbies?

2. What you do on leisure time?

3. Tell me something about yourself?

4. Tell me your family background?

5. Why should we recruit you?

6. How will you compete with electrical guys? (From ECE junta)

For ECE most of TECH QUESTIONS are from Control Systems and Instrumentations.

1. Explain open loop and close loop system with practical examples?

2. Explain frequency response of bode plot?

3. What are the differences between frequency and magnitude response?

4. What are sensors?

5. What is successive approximation type ADC?

6. What is ADC?

7. What is the circuit of ADC?

8. What are the differences between sensors and transducers?

9. What is S and R flip flop?

10. What do you mean by BPSK

These questions are common almost asked from everyone.

Total 20 offers and there are 5 students in waitlist.

Life at Ispat Industries as Trainee:

CollegeKhabar contacted some of employees in Ispat Industries to know about life in Ispat as trainee.

Life is pretty cool but only big issue is about shifts. One need to go in shifts (3 shifts a day of 8 hour each). You may be working one week in night shift and next week in morning. So biological cycle finds it hard to cope but it is common in each industry.

Big pluses about company are it provides very state of art stay near Alibagh (Mumbai). Hostels are big houses ( a rented space of a PSU residency where earlier MDs and General Managers used to stay). This place is hardly a KM away from a beautiful beach very scenic. Living there is like living in lap of nature. There is good mess facility, transportation to company (plant is around 20 kms away from residences) is bear by company.
