Vedanta Group (HZL) visits NIT Jalandhar recently on 16th-17th Dec, 2009
CollegeKhabar is reporting as much as possible about placements in various engineering institutes across India. Vendanta group is on hiring mode these days, from B Schools graduates to Engineers they are hiring big time. Group has very big new projects explains the requirements and investment in technology and expansion plans.
Vedanta Group recently visits NIT Jalandhar for recruitment and selected 22 students which is quite a good number.

Placement Process Detail:
Vedanta followed the procedure of coming up with a shortlist based on CGPA (%age).
Shortlist is made on basis of GPAs. More than 60% in academics (10th, 12th and graduation), Gap not more than 1 year is allowed between studies, No backlogs allowed.
The process followed by Vedanta was:
1) Written test
2) Group Discussion
3) Personal Interview
Written test:
ONLY APTITUDE: 35 QUESTIONS IN 45 MIN.
Group Discussion & Interview were held in the institute.
Group discussion topics:
(1)Core Sector vs IT Sector
(2)Regionalism in North India
(3)Mall Culture among Indian Youth
@ NIT Jalandhar: 47 students were interviewed. Interview was mostly HR based.
Some of the interview questions asked from ECE students were:
(1)What is the difference between 8085 and 8051?
(2)What is the importance of damping factor in Control Systems?
(3)What are the ideal characteristics of Operational Amplifier?
(4)What are radio Waves?

Tell me about yourself?
Why do you want to join Vedanta?
Why should we select you?
If your boss ordered u to do a wrong work then what u will do?
After 5 yrs where u want to see yourself?
Are you ready to work in remote areas?
Why do you don’t want to go for higher study?
After Interview finally 22 offers were made: - (ECE-2, ICE-7, INE-8, MECH-1, and CHE-4)
