The AIEEE which was earlier scheduled for 24th April 2011 has now been postponed to 1st May 2011. The circular from CBSE states that the postponement is due to Easter which falls on 24th April this year, but that the rest of the schedule will remain unchanged. The dates have been changed only for the offline (pen and paper format) exam. The dates for the online exam (which is being held for the first time) remain unchanged.
The CBSE conducts the All India Engineering/ Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE), which is the entrance criteria for admission to the prestigious National Institutes of Technology, IIITs and other state government institutes. Some details:
Date of Offline Examination: 1st May 2011
Date of Online Examination: Online test-takers will be informed separately about the dates
Time of Examination: Paper 1: 9:30am-12:30pm Paper 2: 2pm-5pm
Sale of AIEEE Information Bulletin containing Application Form: 22nd Dec 2010 to 14th Jan 2011
Online submission of application on website http://www.aieee.nic.in : 23rd Nov 2010 to 14th Jan 2011 Results Declaration: On or before 7th June 2011
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible to apply for the B.E./ B.Tech course, one must have had Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 level with any one from Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science or Biology as optional subjects. For the B.Arch/ B.Planning course one should have had Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level.
