India's leading b-school, Department of Management Studies (DoMS) - DoMS IIT Madras had a remarkable placement year 2011 with 66 plus offers.
About the process
The Placement process at DoMS, IIT Madras, undertaken with the active involvement of the students, is supervised by the faculty advisors and guided by the central placement office of the institute. The placement cycle generally commences with the pre-placement talks by the visiting companies in October and the final interviews are scheduled in December.
Placements 2010-11
Pre-placements:
The summer internship program (at the end of the first year) concluded on a successful note with the overwhelming support of the industry and also culminated in the ever-growing pre-placement offers. For the batch of 2011, the pre-placement offers form close to 10% of the final placement offers.
Placements:
P&G, Citibank, Daimler, Welspun and SCOPE International (Standard Chartered Operations India) were the key recruiters in operations, logistics, SCM domain and workforce management.
Citicorp, Nomura, CRISIL and Cognizant Technology Solutions offered positions in equity research, derivative research, investment banking and others.
IT companies - Accenture, CISCO, HP, Infosys, Dell and Wipro recruited students for program management, business analysis, and/or analytics profiles. Several business consulting firms such as Avalon, Deloitte and ICRA Management Consulting also made offers to the students.
CavinKare, KPIT Cummins and Wipro were the key recruiters in marketing. Offered profiles included industrial marketing, market research and sales & strategy.
BHEL and SCI (Shipping Corporation of India) were the two PSUs that visited DoMS and offered positions in HR and Operations.
All the leading recruiters and the first-timers to the IIT Madras campus reposed their immense faith in the quality of education and training imparted by DoMS besides commending the students for the depth of theoretical knowledge, analytical skills and business acumen.
While congratulating the students placed, DoMS Madras is deeply beholden to the recruiters for their continued support and enthusiastic participation in the placement process.
